The Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) and the School of Public Administration of Catalonia (EAPC) are organising an event on 16 September to explore the Data Act and the new rules governing data sharing and processing in the public sector.
The presentation forms part of the closing ceremony of the 2026 DPO Course and will be delivered by Maria Gili Segarra, a lawyer specialising in AI & Digital Law at Ernst & Young Abogados. It will examine the new obligations introduced by the new legislation to facilitate switching between service providers, as well as data portability and interoperability, and their implications for public sector entities, particularly from a contractual perspective. It will also take into account the obligations established under data protection legislation regarding the relationship between the controller and the processor.
The event will take place at 4 p.m. in the EAPC Assembly Hall (c/ Girona, 20). The Director of the APDCAT, Meritxell Borràs i Solé, will close the event and present certificates to the DPOs who have successfully completed this edition of the course.
Prior registration is required and can be completed through this link.
