The 2023-2028 Training Plan includes four distinct lines of action.
Training for Data Protection Officers (DPOs): This includes in-depth training activities aimed at DPOs from institutions within the jurisdiction of the APDCAT. Their main function is to inform and advise data controllers, processors, and their employees about their obligations regarding data protection.
Training for Institutions: This encompasses data protection training activities aimed at the staff of data controllers and processors in the Generalitat Administration, public institutions in Catalonia, local entities, public and private universities in the Catalan university system, and other public entities in Catalonia. It is specifically directed at data protection officers and technical personnel who, as part of their duties, are responsible for addressing issues related to data protection legislation. It also includes sector-specific training for technical, legal, and other teams involved in data processing.
Network of Data Protection Officers in Catalonia: This line involves promoting and strengthening the ‘DPD en xarxa’ Learning Community, a meeting point in Catalonia for Data Protection Officers who ensure compliance with data protection regulations within Catalan organizations. It is a space for them to share and exchange knowledge, discuss concerns, receive training, and overcome feelings of isolation in their organizations.
Privacy for Public and Private Entities: This includes collaborating with reference institutions (professional associations, chambers of commerce, associations, and others) to raise awareness and promote responsible innovation in data protection.
