The APDCAT adapts the amounts of the penalties imposed to the guidelines of the European Data Protection Board

The European Data Protection Board agreed on May 24, 2023 the Guidelines 04/2022, on the calculation of administrative fines according to the RGPD, with the aim of harmonizing the methodology used by the control authorities in the time to set the amount of the fines.

In this context, the Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) has published a resolution to publicize this document and, in addition, determines that the amount of the fines imposed in the sanctioning procedures resolved in the APDCAT must be calculated according to the circumstances of the particular case, taking into account these guidelines.
