Video-Story ‘An Exciting Journey’

How sharing personal information with others can affect us.

Portada conte Tigre

This story aims to raise awareness about the personal data we share and how this can affect us in our lives. Social media has become a very useful tool for sharing our own or others' information, particularly with loved ones who live far away. However, we must make good use of these platforms and be aware of their impact on privacy, especially when the information we share concerns children.

The word sharenting is an anglicism derived from the English words share (to share) and parenting (parenthood), and it refers to the frequent sharing on social media of children’s activities during their growth. This term is used to highlight the overexposure to the internet that some families subject their children to.

To enjoy social media, we should configure the privacy settings offered by the platform so that only the people we choose can see the content we share (especially when third parties appear). If this isn't possible, we should try to reduce the child's exposure, for example, by making it difficult to identify them or the locations where they can be found. This way, we protect their safety.
