The right of access to public information allows you to obtain the information that the Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) has prepared and that it has in its possession as a result of its activity or the exercise of its functions.
The Catalan Data Protection Authority, by virtue of its independence as a data protection supervisory authority, has its own transparency portal and is responsible for evaluating its content.
This self-assessment complies with transparency obligations. In this regard, the Law 19/2014, of 29 December, on transparency, access to public information and good governance, foresees that obligated entities establish procedures based on objective indicators to assess compliance with transparency obligations. In turn, Decree 8/2021, of 9 February, on transparency and the right of access to public information, requires each public administration to establish adequate procedures for internal compliance evaluation and active publication.
