The APDCAT and the EAPC organize a conference on the safe and responsible use of AI in the public sector to mark the closing of the DPD course

The APDCAT and the EAPC will hold, on September 25, the closing event of the 2025 Specialized Training Course for Data Protection Officers (DPD). This year, the meeting will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in the public sector (the so-called shadow AI), addressing its particularities and establishing mechanisms to reduce its potential negative impact on the right to data protection and other rights and freedoms.

The event, which will take place at 4 p.m in the EAPC Assembly Hall (c/ Girona, 20), will feature the lecture “Use of AI in Public Administration: Data Protection and Beyond” by M. Ascensión Moro Cordero, Head of the Open Government Department and Presidency Coordinator at Sant Feliu de Llobregat City Council.

Afterwards, the Director of the APDCAT, Meritxell Borràs, will close the event and present certificates to the DPD participants who successfully completed this year’s course.

The Director of the EAPC, Jaume Magre Ferran, will open the session, which is free and open to the public, with limited seating. Prior registration is required. For further details, please consult the event program.
